Head Coach

Coach Tyler Lucas enters his 14th year in coaching and his first as the Head Baseball Coach at Richland High School. As the leader of a brand-new program, Coach Lucas brings a strong foundation of experience, energy, and vision to help establish a winning culture from day one. Before joining Richland, Coach Lucas made impactful stops at several respected programs across Texas, including Rock Hill, Frisco Heritage, Arlington Bowie, and Fort Bend Hightower. At each of these schools, he played a key role in developing competitive teams and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. Coach Lucas is excited to lay the groundwork for long-term success and build a program that reflects the values of hard work, accountability, and team-first mentality. His passion for the game and dedication to player development will be instrumental in shaping the identity of the Richland Raider baseball program.

Coach Tanner Driskill

Coach Tanner Driskill

Varsity Assistant

Coach Driskill grew up in Round Rock, Texas and was a 2014 graduate of Round Rock High School where he earned All-District and All-State Honors in baseball as a pitcher and infielder. He then went on to play 2 seasons at Weatherford College before transferring to Lamar University. While at Lamar he earned All-Conference honors as a pitcher and at the conclusion of his senior season was drafted in the 9th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals. Coach Driskill spent 4 years pitching in the Washington Nationals Organization. At the conclusion of his professional career he returned to Lamar and served as a graduate assistant on the coaching staff for his alma mater. While on staff at Lamar he also spent time coaching at the Florida Baseball Armory in the off-season. After obtaining his masters degree from Lamar he coached baseball and football for 2 years at Plano West Senior High School before coming to Richland. Coach Driskill is engaged to his fiancé Kennedy and in his free time he enjoys playing golf, watching college football, and spending time with family.

JV Head Coach

Coach Mena is currently in his fourth year of coaching baseball and football. He spent the previous three years at Plano West coaching infield. He is super excited to be part of this amazing opportunity to open up a new campus and establish the standard. He enjoys golfing and working out in his free time.

J Pond is a JV2 baseball and football coach at Richland High School, bringing over 20 years of coaching experience to the program. A former football player at Texas A&M University, he has coached at both the college and high school levels, developing athletes on and off the field. His passion lies in building strong teams and helping student-athletes reach their full potential.
